About me
Zane Flores
Product Designer building AI-powered tools that balance real user needs with smart, accessible design to help digital products grow and scale.

My story
I started as a technical design intern — and that's where it clicked. Not just the tools or the craft, but the scope of what a UX designer actually does. Solving real problems, making things work better for real people. That was it for me.
After that, I went deep. Design principles, systems, how to build things that actually make sense to use. I wasn't just learning how to make things look good — I was learning how to make them work.
Since then I've spent most of my time on complex enterprise products — the kind with a lot of moving parts, a lot of different users, and no room for things to be confusing. I've worked as the sole designer on projects for Microsoft and Compass Group, handling everything from research to the final screen. Nine products in, and the part that still gets me is the problem-solving — figuring out why something isn't working and designing the thing that fixes it.
My approach is pretty simple: design should work for everyone. Usable, accessible, and clear — not just to the person who built it, but to anyone who touches it.
Outside of work, I'm probably on my motorcycle crossing provinces, playing games, or hanging out with my dog.

How I work
Product Discovery
I don't start designing until I understand why. What's the real problem, who's actually affected, and what does success even look like? That's where I start.
Design with intention
Every pixel is a decision. I don't add things because they look good. I add them because they do something. If I can't explain why it's there, it's gone.
Ship and learn
I'd rather get something real in front of users and be wrong than spend weeks perfecting something nobody asked for. Ship it, watch it, fix it.
